Easier Than Ever to Operate and Enjoy

J Star Medical Supply wants to you to have many happy years using your electric scooter, and the best way to do that is to make sure you're operating it safely and correctly. Please read the instruction below carefully. We recommend practicing them several times to learn them well. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us as often as you need to.

Scooter Operating Instructions and Safety

  • Always enter and exit the scooter with the key in the "off" position.
  • Do not drive the scooter through any water! The sensitive electronics cannot withstand any moisture, and the scooter will be damaged. Damage caused by any water source will be charged to the operator or financially responsible party as applicable.
  • The scooter cannot be operated or left out in any rain. It must be protected from water intrusion.
  • Do not operate the scooter unless the operator is 100% confident in the proper and safe usage of the scooter.
  • The scooter cannot be operated on the sand. It is not designed for use on sand and will be damaged if driven in the sand. Any damage due to use on sand will be charged to the operator or financially responsible party as applicable.
  • Use care to treat the scooter as your own.
  • There will be an extra cleaning charge for scooters returned excessively dirty or sandy.
  • Any damage or missing parts discovered upon pickup not noted on the equipment damage or missing parts acknowledgment form will be charged accordingly to the operator or financially responsible party as applicable.

Charging and Troubleshooting

  • Follow all operating instructions on the scooter rental waiver to assure safety.
  • Charge the scooter overnight, every night.
  • Check charger lights to ensure proper charging.
  • Most chargers have two lights: one is usually green to indicate power input to the charger and one will turn from red to green when the scooter is fully charged.
  • When finished charging, make sure the charging plug is not connected to the scooter and charger is unplugged from the AC outlet.
  • The scooter may beep or not move if charging cord is left connected to the scooter and key is turned to the "on" position.
  • Check to see if the scooter drive lever (located on lower rear near wheels) is in (D) or drive position, before turning the scooter on.
  • The scooter may beep or not move if drive lever is either in (N) or neutral position or moved to (N) neutral position when the key is turned to the on position.
  • Some models have a drive rod that pulls up for (N) neutral and down for (D) drive.
  • If the scooter beeps due to the above reasons, remove the key, move the drive lever to (D) or push the lever down on some models, reinsert the key, and turn to the "on" position.
